The Vault Door allows you to build a Browning level of security into a special room in your home or office. If your vault is designed to protect people as well, the inward swinging door is a must. In the event of physical debris blocking your door in the aftermath of a tornado or other natural disaster, you’ll be glad that you can get out after your vault has provided its protection to you and those you hold dear.

Or if you are handy, plan it out yourself to design a room that is fully secure top, sides and bottom. This usually involves concrete walls or concrete filled blocks for walls, a secure reinforced ceiling (suspended concrete is ideal), some attention to fire resistance in the walls and ceiling and a sized door location that will fit a Browning Vault Door and the appropriate anchor fasteners.

Installation details.
Designed to fit a variety of wall types and installation requirements. The minimum rough door opening for the Clamshell Vault Door is 82” X 40”. Clamshell flange design uses an internal and external flange for additional security and improved appearance. Can be secured into an existing door frame using the clamshell flange or, for additional security, using expansion anchors or lag bolts (not included). Clamshell flange has a 3-1/2” range of adjustment to fit walls with a minimum thickness of 8” to a maximum thickness of 11-1/2”.
